77x34x18mm Rectangular Hinged Tin Box
The 77x34x18mm rectangular hinged tin box from Drops Candies tin uses a Gen2 hinged child resistant structure – that is, an inwardly rolled lid combined with a hook at the narrowed neck of tin box. Since the tin box is 3 feet length, two hooks are needed to lock it securely.
Unlike other button-lock child resistant tin boxes on the market, this tin box is made entirely of tinplate, without any accessories or plastic. The 100% environmentally friendly material results in low labor costs for production. The inward-curled lid and body make tin box a sleek, distinctive shape, while the hidden child resistant lock adds to its uniqueness.
32x32x32mm Cubic Tin Box
The Drops Candies cubic tin box (32x32x32mm) uses a modified version of the Gen2 child resistant lock – no hinge. The inward-curled lid engages with the latches on both sides of the constricted opening of the inward-curled tin body, ensuring a stable child resistant lock function.
Due to the small size of this tin cube, through continuous experimentation during the initial design phase, it was determined that a 0.25mm thickness metal tinplate was necessary to prevent the child resistant lock from disabling itself after 10 openings. With its exquisite appearance, unique CR lock, accessory-free construction, 100% environmentally friendly tinplate construction, and low labor costs, this tin box is a popular choice for jelly child resistant tin boxes.
Reverse Gen2 Child-Resistant Tin Cube
Another custom-designed child-resistant tin box from Drops Candies tin cube, measuring 32x32x32mm, features a reverse Gen2 child resistant lock – a constricted lid with hooks and an inward-curling seam on the tin. The inward-curling seam secures the hooks on both sides of the lid.
This child resistant structure allows for stable support even with standard tinplate. Aside from these differences, it is identical to the currently used child resistant tin cube design. Drops Candies abandoned this design due to differences between the two initial child resistant designs. This tin cube has not yet been released to the market.
Airtight & Sealing Upgrades
Currently, Drops Candies tin boxes use heat-shrink film for a one-time seal. But these tin boxes can be upgraded to a reusable, fully sealed structure.
The 77x34x18mm hinged tin case can be sealed by adding a silicone or injection-molded plastic inner tray. The only method for 32x32x32mm CR tin cube is using an injection-molded plastic inner tray for a seal. Due to its smaller size, the sealing cost is not significantly increased.
